  • Nowadays major examination organizations all over the world are undergoing a transformation from pure test providers to focused assessment agencies. Assessment is the process of documenting, usually in measurable terms, knowledge, skills, attitudes and beliefs. Through the measurement, quantification and non-quantification of knowledge of students, the assessor is able to draw reliable and reasonable conclusions; the essence is to do a deep mining of test data.
This paper firstly introduces the feasibility study of designing assessment report for Nation Computer Rank Examination (NCRE) Level One, conducted upon previous researches on data collection and test methods. Then, the design and implementation of the report will be presented in detail. By integrating features from assessment reports issued by other testing bodies, the NCRE Level One assessment report is designed to suit its own characteristics. The software to generate the report is designed through software engineering processes, adopting the analytical and designing methods of orient object program (OOP). The package features deep mining of current test data as well as automation of report generation; further, it is built based on the B/S structure on the Internet to provide a convenient query mechanism for test users. Finally, this paper considers prospective development of assessment report for higher rank subjects of NCRE.
